Bridge on Route 44 Dedicated to SFC Jared C. Monti

Mr. Monti and Jared use to go fishing under this bridge that crosses over the Taunton River on Route 44 near his home in Raynham. Now this very bridge bears his son’s name. The dedication ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon.

The Monti family received the Medal of Honor on Jared’s behalf at the White House in 2009. SFC Monti of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division was given the award for SAVING a fellow soldier’s life in Afghanistan while fighting insurgents on June 21, 2006, losing his own life in the process at age 30.
