Waldo & Niccole Monti-Alicea are Vice Presidents of Celebrate the Military Child. Niccole’s brother, SFC Jared Monti, was killed in Afghanistan in June of 2006 and was awarded the first Medal of Honor in Operation Enduring Freedom, in September 2009. They were involved in their first military baby shower recently via Skype. At that point, they realized how much they wanted to help and how much good they could provide in their small town of Greenville, NC.
Waldo has a daughter Brenda who is expecting a little girl in August. Brenda’s husband has served two tours in Iraq with the Marines. Waldo has two sons Bryan and Russell who are looking forward to helping CtheMC. Waldo and Niccole have a daughter, Carys, who is 7, and are expecting another baby girl in June.
They found out through various testing that she will be born with Down Syndrome. Instead of hanging their heads down, they have decided to take some of their personal tragedies and turn them into something positive. They truly believe that everything happens for a reason and it is now their mission to educate individuals on just how very truly unique and special every child truly is. They believe our daughter, who will be born with Down Syndrome, is truly a gift from God.
Waldo and Niccole have owned a children’s consignment shop called Kids-Go-Round for 2 years and feel that it will be the perfect place to host events. We currently donate to the Red Cross and to a local military base and are honored to have formed CtheMC and serve on the board.
